The Causeway Collection is an elusive new collection of limited edition rare cask-finished Irish single malts from the world’s oldest licensed whiskey distillery, Bushmills. The worlds first ever vermouth cask-finished Irish single malt whiskey release. After maturing for over 18 years in oloroso sherry butts and bourbon barrels, Alex Thomas, our Master Blender, finished this enticing one-time-release whiskey in unique vermouth casks. The fortified herbal wine from the Piedmont region of Italy previously housed in these French oak casks bring an abundance of delicate summer floral aromas, like rose petals and gentle herbaceous notes. And where others might recask their whiskey for just six months or so, we’ve added deeper waves of flavour by maturing ours in these vermouth casks for almost two years. The years have ripened the summer flavours, adding mouth-watering notes of mandarin orange and a deeper rich fruitcake sweetness. It’s a sensational whiskey that stands with the best of Irish single malt, a giant in its own right.
